Wine of the Week: Aguaribay 2012 Malbec

As the weather warms up, I am usually in the mood for a white wine—usually a Chardonnay.

But with cool thunderstorms raging, we decided to open this bottle of red on Saturday night.

Mister BS prefers red, so this bottle I actually ended up sharing. And it’s the perfect example of why we hope to retire in Argentina. This deep red with lots of rich, berry flavor was delicious.

We didn’t pair this with anything, but it would have been great with some dark chocolate for dessert or a salad with balsamic vinaigrette.

I don’t blame you, a red wine has always that character to forget the weather around, and nevertheless many times my wife and I enjoy a glass of chardonnay in those very sunny afternoons.
Your blog made me recall that one of the most memorable red wines I ever tasted was an Argentinian Shiraz with the name of “Santa Anna”.
