This week was full of secrets, crazy feelings of excitement, dread, and panic, and absolutely no (real) cooking. I’m hoping to correct that over the weekend by relaxing, getting some work done (so many impending conference presentations and webinars!) and trying out a few new recipes while trying to distract myself from potential life changes.
- I always think I like Manhattans (and I have, before) but often when I order them I always wish I’d just ordered Rye straight up or an Old-fashioned, because I don’t like Vermouth. Perhaps the Manhattans I have loved have been this ‘perfect’ recipe from Smitten Kitchen?
- I never, ever read inspirational or self-help type books, but I enjoyed these 5 Inspirational Quotes from Big Magic at Books Speak Volumes.
- Writer’s block is not an issue for me; I struggle with finding the time to write (whether blogging or fiction) but I really enjoyed this round up of quotes from writers on writing and perfectionism from Witty Title Here.
- I swear, I had to take a Myers-Briggs personality test every semester of grad school as a way to get to know my classmates, but I was still interested in reading this post from Oddly Lovely about the different dimensions of personality the test measures. For the record, I always test as Introverted – Intuition – Thinking – Judging (INTJ) which is the rarest type and the one most often associated with villains and/or serial killers. But I swear, I’m just a librarian.
Have a great weekend!
