It’s my birthday month, which puts me in the mood for shopping! But this year, I’m traveling for my birthday. I’m off to Book Expo America in Chicago to hang out with all my bookish friends, then going to San Francisco to visit my sister, then driving down to stay with my brother in LA. So I won’t be splurging on any big ticket items this month. But that doesn’t mean I can’t dream!
I don’t need these Kate Spade Corina loafers. But I love them. The perfect blush color with black ribbon, these would look great with simple outfits like black cropped pants and a white blazer. But I have a fun pair of loafer (J Crew leopard print) and what I’d really get more use out of is a new pair of slip on Vans. My Star Wars pair are starting to get too much wear and I want them to last forever. I am proud of myself for recognizing that certain splurge purchases aren’t worth it when looking at the cost-per-wear. Still, I’m tempted. But I’m resisting. A sign of maturity?
Now this Land’s End polka dot portrait collar dress is a dress I would get a ton of use out of. I like the high neckline. Sometimes dresses that would look modest on others are not work-appropriate on me, but this would be perfect with a bright colored cardigan, and I’ve loved all of my Land’s End dresses so far. I’ll wait for the right sale, and this is going in my closet.
The last thing I really need is more lipstick. But for the past few years, I’ve been really into saturated colors, and lately I’ve been reaching for a sheer hint of color that I just don’t have. So next time it’s Clinique bonus time, I’m grabbing this Clinique almost lipstick in pink honey.
I’ve been rocking Essie’s ‘worth the wait’ as my sheer nude pink lately, but I love this new spring Essie nail polish in ‘high class affair’.
I don’t wear a lot of jewelry, but I do occasionally like a necklace. A lot of mine are starting to feel a bit dated, though. That bubble style that was so popular a few years ago? I usually go for more classic styles but I collected quite a few of those. So I could use a refresh in my necklace options. I love this Bauble Bar Seaglass Bib Necklace in this beautiful blush color.
Last time I reached for a thank you card, all the ones in my stash felt generic. These beautiful Riffle Paper Co. Mermaid thank you cards caught my eye. I love the color combo—that sea green with blush and lots of gold is perfect.
